The Fishers' Landing
Fishing is a small game that lives only on this website; it is not part of the app. Pick a pier, cast your line and fight what bites. Every catch is a short duel with a creature of your level, and the game plays the same on a computer, a phone or an iPad.
How a catch works
- Stand on the pier and cast. Then wait: the bobber dips, you hear the bite if sound is on, and the page says "A bite!" for screen readers.
- Strike within the window. Miss it and the fish is gone.
- The catch surfaces with a name, a level and a health bar, like any monster. Reel to wear it down: reeling raises the line tension.
- Ease off to let the tension fall. A red marker warns of a lunge: reel into it and the line spikes and the catch hits back.
- Your class's first three abilities work at the river too. The line snaps at full tension, and the catch drags you under if your health runs out. Either way it simply swims off.
Water or lava
The Water Pier sits on the Light's river of pure water, beside Sun City. The Lava Pier sits on the Dark's river of lava, beside Moon City. Your own element is safe: water for the Light, lava for the Dark. Fishing the enemy's element is a dare. The catch counts as one level higher, the river hurts you a little every few seconds, and you see the game's own warning.
The jinn-fire sears your water-sworn flesh! GET OUT!
The pure river rejects the pact-bound! GET OUT!

Now and then the hook finds something big that fights like an elite monster, and sometimes it snags a treasure instead of a fish.
Your class at the river
You fish with the same first three abilities your class has in the game, re-voiced for the river.

| Warrior | Burst: a heavy hit on the catch, but the line tightens | |
| Calm: breaks its run, the line slackens a lot | ||

Guests and heroes
Without an account you fish with a demo hero: pick a class and the Light or the Dark, at level 10. Guest catches are practice: nothing is sent anywhere, and your journal stays in this browser only.
Signed in, you walk and fish with one of your own heroes. The hero you choose here can also be the one the forums show for you.
The fishing journal
Eighteen entries: at each pier six fish, one rare and two treasures. A species you have not caught yet shows as a silhouette, and the journal keeps your count and your heaviest catch of each. Filling it is for the joy of it.
Privacy
The game loads only when you press Start. As a guest it saves your settings and your journal in your browser's local storage (woc_play), which never leaves your device. It sets no cookies. See the privacy policy for the details. Privacy Policy
